Horse Packing to White Creek
Center of the Gila Wilderness

The drive to the trailhead was beautiful

On the trail by Iron Creek

There were a few hunters around,
hence the orange band.

As my friend Tris would say, 'It was the prefect camping spot."

A beautiful walk down the Middle Fork of the Gila River

Up on Jackass Mesa (no reference to our trusty steed)

Cub Mesa

There were some major floods into the White Creek area on the West Fork.
I'm standing on about 5 feet of gravel.

This cabin was the Wilderness headquarters.  It's about 20 miles in from any trailhead,
but the current funding doesn't keep it staffed.

Below White Creek the west Fork boxes and forms a
series of falls and pools.

It was cold and only I took the plunge.

On the way out, back on Cub Mesa

Less talk than Mr. Ed

It was a fun trip!
